The Oldham Choral Society are welcome new singers to join them for their forthcoming concert in April.

Rehearsals for ‘Verdi’s Requiem’ start in January with the performance taking place at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester on Sunday April 28 at 7pm.

The Society, with over 100 members, is one of the leading amateur choirs in North West England. It has a reputation for performing choral music to a high standard with soloists of the highest calibre accompanied by the acclaimed East Lancs Sinfonia. Nigel Wilkinson, as MD, has guided the choir successfully for just over 20 years.

The repertoire includes most of the major choral works by Bach, Elgar, Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Rossini and many others.

The society organises about 4 concerts a year in Oldham, Manchester and further afield. The Autumn and Spring concerts are held at the prestigious Royal Northern College of music.

Membership is open to anyone who wants to sing, they do not hold auditions. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings at 7:20 pm in the main hall of Chadderton Town Hall, Middleton Rd, Chadderton OL9 6PP.
