The Saddleworth Round Table’s Bangers and Laughs comedy night was a great success raising over £2000.

250 people were packed into the White Hart’s Oak Room as compere Rob Riley took to the stage after a hearty meal of sausage and mash.

Special surprise guest this year was Lee Ridley, the Lost Voice Guy, winner of 2018’s Britain’s Got Talent. Disabled since early life, and unable to speak, he is the first stand-up comedian in Britain to use a communication aid in his routines.

Chairman, Richard Foster, said: “What better way is there to brighten up January than by roaring with laughter and raising money for charity whilst doing so.

“I’d like to thank all those who supported this year’s Bangers and Laughs. It was a sellout for the third year running which is absolutely amazing. It was a fantastic night of comedy and Rob Riley really pulled out all the stops and we were so delighted to be joined by Lee Ridley. It was a huge surprise as none of our guests new the line-up in advance. We hope to see everyone again next year!”

Final numbers are not yet in, but it is estimated the night raised £2,100 which will go to the local community and organisations.
