Shenton re-joins Curzon Ashton
Monday 17th December 2018 @ 12:44 by Mark Phillip

Chadderton have confirmed the departures of Will Shawcross and Ryan Shenton to Prestwich Heys and Curzon Ashton respectively.

The announcement was made prior to the club’s 6-0 defeat to FC United in a friendly fundraiser at the Ark Fleetech Stadium last weekend.

Shenton, a midfielder, returns to the Tameside Stadium having been left out of Curzon’s plans over summer.

He initially joined Chadderton on-loan last season, helping the squad to a 16th place finish in the North West Counties First Division, before returning to the Tameside Stadium over summer . However, having failed to catch the eye of then manager John Flanagan, he opted to join Chadderton for a second loan spell in August.

Despite the club’s struggles this season, Shenton has been a shining light in an otherwise disappointing campaign and has impressed in a number of matches. He returns to Curzon Ashton under the new management team of Mark Bradshaw and Will Shawcross. The Nash were without a game last weekend due to their elimination from the FA Trophy at the end of November, but they are set to play this weekend against Kidderminster Harriers at Aggborough Stadium. Following his return to Curzon, Shenton Tweeted: “Massive thank you to everyone down @ChaddertonFC for everything you have done for me, and looking forward to the new challenge at @curzonAshton.”
