Oldham Ladies’ 1s vs Wilmslow Ladies’ 1s
Home @NRCC

Last years league champions Wilmslow proved too much to handle for Oldham’s first XI despite the local side’s recent impressive form. A 5-0 defeat sealed their first loss of the season so far. Captain Daisy May Lord is hoping her side can brush it off and pick up where they left off next week. Oldham are now level with top of the league Wilmslow on points but are lagging on goal difference.

Oldham Ladies’ 2s vs Bury Ladies’ 1s

Oldham’s second XI travelled to Bury with hopes of a win this weekend. A very evenly matched game ensued. The game was a tough one, with constant end-to-end play. Joint players of the day Donna Tindall and Lisa Meanock were on top form but unfortunately Bury managed to stop Oldham from producing any serious threat on goal. Retired ‘keeper Alison Chadwick stepped in when usual goalie Jen Green was unavailable, and performed an impressive save from a short corner in the dying seconds of the game to retain a clean sheet. 0-0 full time.

Oldham Ladies’ 3s vs Glossop Ladies’ 1s

Oldham 3s where sitting 2nd to bottom in the league so needed a much needed win. From the start, Oldham were strong on the ball and mounted attack after attack. Oldham soon found themselves 2-0 up with both goals coming from captain Karen Lord. Glossop came fighting back and soon levelled the score. With less than 10 minutes play remaining, Daisy Shepherdson was brought back on and after just 30 seconds of being on the pitch managed to put Oldham ahead. Final score 3-2 Oldham.

Oldham Mixed vs East Didsbury Mixed

Oldham’s mixed team were unlucky this weekend with a 4-1 loss against a very strong East Didsbury side. Despite some determined battling from the back line they were unable to stop the powerful attempts from the opposition. Newly-selected Greater Manchester County player Ellis Barnes managed to pull off an impressive attack to secure Oldham’s goal.

Oldham Ladies’ 4s vs Urmston Ladies’ 3s
