EFL League Two

Notts County 0-0 Oldham Athletic

Oldham claimed their sixth league draw of the season after playing out a goalless stalemate at Notts County.

Despite claiming a point, Frankie Bunn’s side will feel disheartened not to have returned with all three after dominating large periods of the game and testing Ross Fitzsimons in goal.

Ishmael Miller almost grabbed his third goal in as many games, but the striker forced Fitzsimons into a great save.

Latics, who were backed by 296 travelling fans, almost took the lead on the half hour mark. Andy Taylor had his headed effort cleared off the line, while Fitzsimons made another fine save to deny captain Peter Clarke.

At the other end of the pitch, the Magpies also went close to opening the scoring. However, goalkeeper Daniel Iversen, on-loan from Leicester City, denied Enzio Boldewijn and Nathan Thomas.

Oldham continued to look for the winner and came close through Dan Gardner, although their efforts were almost undone in added time when Boldewijn hit the post.

Latics are without a league fixture this weekend due to their involvement in the FA Cup first round. Bunn’s side make the journey to Hampton and Richmond Borough on Monday evening. The game will be shown live on BT Sport 1.
