Alexandra Park Junior School are holding a fundraiser to raise money for new school equipment.

The event takes place on Saturday October 13 from 12-4pm at The Eastern Pavilion Banqueting Hall on Featherstall Road in Oldham.

There will be stalls and fun family activities including a bouncy castle, face painting, a balloon modeller, photo booth and character mascot.

At 1.30pm there will be a 3-course sit-down meal during which guests will be entertained by performances from the school choir and dance club plus a video showcasing what the school has achieved over the last year.

There will also be a raffle with prizes including signed books from Professor Brian Cox and a speech from the Head Teacher.

The Worshipful Mayor of Oldham will be in attendance along with other local councillors.

The fundraiser aims to raise enough for a brand-new set of iPads.

Acting Deputy Head Teacher Stephanie Griffin said: “Our current set are broken or have limited use and due to reductions in funding we are currently unable to purchase the equipment. As new technology develops there are some incredible learning opportunities that we feel our children would greatly benefit from.

“We hope the event will also be an opportunity for our local community to come together, build relationships an celebrate the strides we are making as a school.”

Tickets are £10, free for under 6’s, and can be purchased from the school office. Payments or donations can be made via their Just Giving page here.
