Chadderton 6-1 Cleator Moor Celtic

Chadderton picked up a valuable three points with a 6-1 demolition over Cleator Moor Celtic at the Ark Fleetech Stadium.

Despite a dominant opening to the game, it took the hosts until the stroke of half-time to take the lead. Nathan Connor put his side ahead in the 40th minute before an own goal three minutes later gave Chaddy a two goal cushion.

To their credit, Celtic responded well in the opening stages of the second-half and reduced the arrears through Tom Mahone’s penalty. Luck has deserted Chadderton all season, but it was firmly on their side at the weekend as they ran riot in the final 25 minutes. A Harry Pratt double in the 64th and 75th minute put Chadderton 4-1 up, before Oumar Camara added a fifth with five minutes remaining.

And just as the game was petering out, Daniel Cryer added a sixth to cap a memorable day for those in attendance.

Following the game, manager David Fish offered his thoughts on Twitter. He said: “Another Saturday and another seven goals at the ARK Fleetech stadium. Six for us this week though. My beer tastes so much better this evening.”
