Oldham geared up for the return of the town’s annual Classic Car Show organised by the Tame Valley Vintage and Classic Car Club.

The free rally event, which saw 4000 people in attendance, is supported by Oldham Council and the Town Centre Business Partnership and was held on Parliament Square last Sunday.

There were around 50 vehicles on display throughout the day including cars, motorcycles and liht commercial vehicles. This included pre-war tourers, 1960s sports models and American classics.

Perhaps the most famous of the bunch was the Jurassic Park Jeep which was roaming the event to the delight of onlookers.

Entertaining the crowds were the Comedy Gangsters, Oldham Theatre Workshop and and F1 Simulator where you could try your hand at being a racing driver. Owners were also on hand to answer any motoring questions.

Leader of Oldham Council, Cllr Sean Fielding said: “The event was a tremendous success, as it has proved to be in previous years.

“With more than 4,000 people in attendance on the day, the Classic Car Show offered families and motor enthusiasts a great chance to visit Oldham and explore all the shops and attractions on offer.”
