Weather saves Royton’s blushes
Monday 19th March 2018 @ 14:23 by Mark Phillip

Although the weather has been enemy number one for a lot of clubs in recent weeks, the same can’t be said for Royton Town on Saturday.

Following the previous weekend’s 5-2 loss against Rochdale Sacred Heart, Royton were on course for another drubbing at Stockport Georgians. However, after falling three goals behind by the 50th minute, the game was abandoned shortly after due to hazardous conditions.

The result leaves Royton in seventh spot on 26 points, ahead of this weekend’s game at Hindsford, who sit one place and three points above them.

Meanwhile, Springhead secured back-to-back victories for the first time in four months with a 2-1 victory over Hindsford. The result leaves the club in fifth spot and just one point below fourth place Heyside. Springhead have, however, played two games less than Heyside.

Subject to weather conditions, Springhead host Stockport Georgians this weekend.
