Police say three men, two aged 20, a 22-year-old and the 15-year-old boy were arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody for questioning.

Officers were called to reports that a man was unconscious and not breathing on Waterloo Street, Oldham, at 3.20pm on Friday.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, had suffered multiple stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he sadly died.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Nicky Porter, said: “Although the investigation is making good progress, it remains in its early stages.

“I appeal to anyone who may have witnessed what happened yesterday or who has any information to contact us.

“A large cordon remains in place and I am grateful for the support the local community and the hospitality they have shown to officers, some of them keeping them supplied with hot drinks during a very wet night.
